A District Court judge has ruled that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau overstepped its authority when it tried to issue a rule prohibiting the inclusion of medical debts on consumers' credit reports, after the new leadership of the Bureau decided to abandon its defense of a lawsuit brought by the credit and collection industry.
