Webinar: Is the CFPB's Medical Debt Credit Reporting Rule Finally Dead?
Monday, July 14 @ 3:30pm ET
A District Court judge has ruled that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau overstepped its authority when it tried to issue a rule prohibiting the inclusion of medical debts on consumers' credit reports, after the new leadership of the Bureau decided to abandon its defense of a lawsuit brought by the credit and collection industry. So what happens now? Will there be appeals? What happens with the other industry lawsuit challenging the rule? What about the laws that all the states are enacting?
In this webinar, sponsored by Connect International, a panel of experts, including the head of the Consumer Data Industry Association -- one of the plaintiffs in this case -- will break down the ruling and what it means for the issue of medical debt credit reporting going forward.
