Collector Facing FDCPA, TCPA Class Action for Making Calls After Consent was Revoked
A collection operation is facing a class-action lawsuit for allegedly violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act as well as state law in Ohio for attempting to communicate with the plaintiff via his cell phone after he revoked consent to be communicated and for sending a Model Validation Notice that did not provide at least 30 days for the debt to be disputed.

Appeals Court Affirms Ruling in Favor of Defendant in FCRA Case
The Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit has affirmed a trial ruling in favor of a defendant that was sued for allegedly violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act by reporting inaccurate information to the credit reporting agencies and for not reasonably investigating disputes filed by the plaintiff.
