Suit Accuses Defendant of Violating FDCPA By Failing to Report Debt as Disputed

  • You know what they say about the road to that place down there … A plaintiff has filed a lawsuit accusing a collection operation of violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act because it allegedly failed to report that the debt was being disputed, even though the plaintiff did not respond to a request for more information from the defendant after the original dispute notification was made.

CFPB Targets Workplace Communications by Debt Collectors in Blog Post

  • The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is back with another blog post warning consumers about unfair debt collection practices, this time surrounding being contacted while at work. This follows a post from a couple of weeks ago about junk fees that can be assessed by debt collectors.

AI in the Spotlight: Oregon AG Sets the Stage for Regulating Artificial Intelligence
